DONEGAL Coroner Dr Denis McCauley has said he believes lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic continues to have psychological effects on many people.
The Stranorlar GP was making his comments as this month marks five years since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Dr McCauley praised the success of the vaccination programme but said the impact of long-Covid can be seen in the psychological aftermath that lockdown had and continues to have on many people.
He said that within his role as a coroner, he has seen an upswing in the number of suicides in Donegal.
