Five bonfires and two cars set alight on Hallowe’en

THERE was five bonfires and two cars set on fire, including a Garda patrol car, during the course of Hallowe’en night.

Donegal Fire Service were called out to 11 separate incidents in total.

Anne Marie Conlon, Press Officer with Donegal County Council, said the incidents were largely attributable to Hallowe’en.

The fire service were also called out to two bin/skip fires on Tuesday night.

Ms Conlon said: “The incidents occurred between the hours of 6pm and midnight. No further incidents were recorded after midnight.”

The Garda vehicle was set alight outside Carndonagh Garda Station at approximately 9.30pm.

Gardai said they are investigating the incident of criminal damage and no arrests have been made.
