FOUR fishermen were rescued after their boat sank off the Gaoth Dobhair coast yesterday morning.
The boat got into difficulty early on Thursday morning off the coast at Bloody Foreland.
A distress call from the boat was picked up at the Malin Head centre and a search operation was launched.
The men, however, were picked up by another vessel and brought to safety to Magheraroarty Pier.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a search for a fisherman missing off the coast of Mullaghmore has this evening been suspended and will resume on Saturday morning.
The multi-agency search operation is concentrated on the area off Mullaghmore in Co. Sligo and out into Donegal bay.
The search was launched after a member of the public alerted Malin Head co-ordination centre on Thursday evening.
It’s thought a fisherman fell overboard from a fishing vessel whose engine was still running when it was discovered.
