THE FIRST set of traffic lights has been installed in Ramelton in a bid to heighten the safety of the community.
This installation is part of the €900,000 Safe Routes to School programme.
Welcoming the work this week, Cllr Pauric McGarvey said the aim of the lights is to reduce the speed of traffic travelling down Tank Brae so children can get to school safely.
Also as part of the project, Donegal County Council have widened footpaths at Saint Mary’s Church and implemented a one way system around Saint Mary’s National School.
“It is a great project and it is great to see the work being done,” Cllr McGarvey said.
“I would like to thank the people of Ramelton for their patience throughout the works,” he concluded.
