FARMERS across Donegal will welcome the news that the first round of Single Farm Payments will be issued from Tuesday.
Close to 9,000 farmers in the county will share in an approximate pay-out to the county of €50 million.
In June the local branch of the IFA called for payments to be brought forward as those in the agricultural sector battled against the worst weather conditions in decades.
Recent statistics have also shown the Donegal is leading the way when it comes to submitting single farm payments online.
