FIREFIGHTERS are breaking their silence for the first time over the challenges they face when struggling to navigate through traffic congestion in Letterkenny.
Implying that the road chaos might lead to a tragedy, firefighter Conor McGuigan told the Donegal News, “It’s alright until its not alright, and then they’ll be asking questions.”
Mr McGuigan was recently elected Chairperson of the Donegal Firefighters Association, representing the interests of retained fire service personnel at 15 stations in Donegal.
“We experience the traffic problems all the time,” he said.
“There wasn’t much thought given, from an emergency services point of view, when the current Letterkenny roads system was being designed.”
