Fire Service praised for speedy response to bus fire

The Fire Service arrived on scene at the Bus Éireann fire at the Dry Arch Roundabout 10 minutes after mobilising and were confronted with a fully developed fire.

At 8.40 pm yesterday evening, 5th January 2023, Letterkenny Fire Brigade mobilised to a vehicle fire on the inbound lane of the dual carriageway at the Dry Arch Roundabout.

The first fire vehicle was in attendance 10 minutes after mobilising said a spokesperson from Donegal County Council.

On arrival the brigade was confronted by a bus involved in a fully developed fire. All the passengers and the driver were out on arrival.

Stranorlar Fire Brigade was mobilised at 8.50 pm.

Fire Service resources mobilised consisted of two fire engines, a water tanker and a jeep.

No injuries were reported to the Fire Service Incident Commander.

The last fire engine left the scene at 10.55 pm.

Bus Éireann thanked the emergency services for their rapid and effective response to the situation.
