Fire at derelict Letterkenny house deliberate – gardaí

A fire at a derelict house in Letterkenny is believed to have been started deliberately, gardaí have said.

Emergency services attended the scene of the fire at the house in Meadowbank Park area of Letterkenny on Friday, March 21, shortly after 4.30pm.

A garda spokesperson said: “The fire brigade were on scene to extinguish a fire at the property that is believed to have been started maliciously. Nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

“We appeal to anybody who may have observed any suspicious activity in the area on that date to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 0(74) 9167100. If anybody travelled with a dash-cam in the area of Meadowbank Park or Long Lane between 4pm and 4.30pm, we ask them to make the footage available to gardaí.”
