A YOUNG Letterkenny woman is to be the new Principal of Mulroy College in Milford. Fiona Temple (37), from Crievesmith, Letterkenny, will succeed current principal, Rita Gleeson in March. She will be one of the youngest secondary school principals in the country.
The youngest daughter of Seamus Temple and Mary Temple, she is currently Vice-Principal of Crana College, Buncrana.
Ms Temple has previously worked in Germany and Errigal College in Letterkenny. Speaking to the Donegal News, Ms Temple, who has been five and half years in Buncrana, said she was looking forward to the new posting.
“It is a big challenge, but a great opportunity to take on such a prestigious position,” she said.
“I look forward to working closely with the staff, students and parents and people in the surrounding area to build on the excellent work that is already being done in the school,” Ms Temple added.
Mulroy College, is the former Vocational School in Milford and is built on a green field site on the outskirts of the town. It has over 320 pupils, mainly drawn from the Milford, Fanad and Rosguill Peninsulas.
Ms Temple worked in Germany for two years and spent ten years working in Errigal College, Letterkenny.
Her parents are both retired psychiatric nurses. She has two sisters, Labhaoise Maguire (Conwal, Letterkenny), Deirdre (Dublin) and a younger brother, Martin.
