Finn Harps are set for a trip to Bolton later this week as they gear towards the start of the new League of Ireland First Division season.
The Finn Park residents have had two pre-season outings to date, beating their North West neighbours Sligo Rovers 1-0 last Tuesday night before losing 3-2 to Premier Division side Galway United at Finn Park on Sunday.
Kevin McHugh’s side will now head over to England where they’ll progress their preparations for the new campaign, with two tests against Bolton Wanderers’ ‘B’ team and Wigan Athletic’s ‘B’ team.
The Navenny Street club has a connection with Bolton Wanderers, with former player and Donegal native Fergal Harkin currently serving as the Director at The Trotters.
Harkin made 102 appearances while at Finn Harps, playing for the club between 1999 and 2001.
These are two high level contests which will help McHugh’s men to get ready for the league opener against Athlone Town on the 1th of February.
