Finn Harps’ play-off ambitions have taken another blow as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Wexford FC at Finn Park on Monday night.
Kevin McHugh’s outfit threatened the Wexford goal on a number of occasions before breaking the deadlock three minutes after the restart through Gavin McAteer.
However, the hosts struggled to deal with the Wexford side’s set pieces and a hat-trick from centre-back Dean Larkin meant that Stephen Elliott’s men made the journey south with the three points.
Finn Harps will look to bounce back when they travel to Cobh Ramblers this Friday.
