Finn Harps held to goalless draw with Wexford

Finn Harps 0-0 Wexford

Finn Harps were held to a goalless draw with Wexford in the League of Ireland First Division at Finn Park.

Harps went close early through a Seamas Keogh free kick after five minutes that went just over the bar, while Cian Lynch had a couple of shots wide of the mark.

Harps also lost Daniel Okwute to injury in the first half with Filip Da Silva replacing him, while Wexford threatened from corners.

Tim Hiemer made a smart save from Hugh Douglas who swung his boot at the ball after a Conor Levingston corner, but there were few real chances for either side.

Dave Rogers’ men were the better team in the second half but didn’t test Noel Heffernan often.

Filip Da Silva and Ryan Rainey both went close but neither could find the target, while Lynch had Heffernan scrambling at a cross.

A serious injury to Aaron Robinson late on meant seven minutes of added time were played and Harps piled on the pressure, but they couldn’t find a winner.
