FINN Harps couldn’t find the back of the net as they will rue missed chances against a Kerry side that were hard to break down.
The Harps had their chances, especially early on as Michael Harris was sent through but he couldn’t get the accuracy on his strike and Kevin Williams cleared before Sean O’Donnell could tap in.
Noe Baba and O’Donnell also had headed effort sail wide and Filip Da Silva’s goalward shot was cleared by Williams again as Kerry ‘keeper Aaron Sullivan was stranded.
Kerry’s only first half chances came in the form of a Nathan Gleeson volley which was well saved by Tim Hiemer, while Robert Vasiu’s long range shot deflected wide.
The Harps started the second half on the front foot with O’Donnell and Flood being the most threatening, the latter having a shot from 25 yards well saved by Sullivan.
Filip Da Silva’s back post header from a Flood free came back off the post and was cleared, while Shane McMonagle would’ve been annoyed he didn’t do better after getting on the end of a Harris lobbed pass.
Kerry had a big chance in added time as Ryan Kelliher’s shot had to be parried over by Hiemer, but it was two points dropped for the Harps who take on Galway on the Bank Holiday Monday.
