Finn Harps draw away as Wexford level late on

Wexford 2 Finn Harps 2

A late Wexford equaliser denied Finn Harps another win on the road in Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night.

The away side were on top in the first half but Wexford went into the lead on ten minutes as Calum Flynn’s cross from the left found Mikie Rowe who sent the ball into the far corner as they led at the break.

But as Tony McNamee found Dara McGuinness on the counter, the Harps levelled the game on 50 minutes as the striker struck low in off the far post.

Kevin McHugh’s side went ahead when Gavin McAteer’s cross on the left found Tony McNamee on the edge of the box and his effort hit off a purple shirt and took it past Paul Martin with 20 minutes to go.

But the hosts equalised when Ryan Butler’s cross was poked towards the top corner by Flynn and to make it a level game and that’s how it stayed as the Harps make it four games unbeaten.
