Finn Harps have announced the signing of Ireland underage international goalkeeper Conor Walsh on loan from Sligo Rovers.
Walsh, a Mayo native, made six appearances for Sligo Rovers in the Premier Division last season. He has represented Ireland at U15, U16, U17 and now at U19 level.
Darren Murphy told club media: “It’s brilliant to have this deal completed ahead of today’s deadline. Conor is another player who fits the profile we’re looking at, young, hungry players who are eager to grow and improve. He’s a player being tracked by a number of clubs across the water and it’s no surprise given both his talent and his personality, he is committed to improvement and being the best player he can.
Walsh spoke of his excitement ahead of the move, telling finnharps.ie “I’m delighted to be here at Harps. It’s a great club with great supporters, and I’d know a few of the boys from the Ireland underage setup and of course David who I played with at Sligo. I’m buzzing to get the deal done and I’m looking forward to getting out there with the lads and playing for the fans at Finn Park.”
