FINN Harps left-back Ciaran Coll has been allowed to travel back to Donegal with the team after being examined at Galway Regional Hospital following an incident during tonight’s game against Galway FC.

Coll was stretchered off ten minutes from time after taking a heavy bang to his side that left him concussed.

While there were anxious moments with the player grounded and receiving lengthy attention, the player has been permitted to travel home tonight and will be assessed again at Letterkenny General Hospital on Saturday.

“Ciaran got a knee into his ribs,” explained Harps manager Ollie Horgan.

“The doctor was a little concerned about his kidneys, but I think he’ll be ok. He’s been taken to the Regional Hospital. Whatever care he needs, he’ll get. The doctor was out quickly and attended to him.”

Coll has been captaining Harps in the continued absence of regular skipper Kevin McHugh and his absence would be a major blow to Horgan.

However, the Harps boss is hopeful that medics will give the green light.

He said:  “Ciaran was a bit concussed as well on top of it, but please God he’ll be ok and right for next week.”
