Finn Harps beaten as Treaty strike early and late

Finn Harps 0 Treaty United 2

Finn Harps were beaten by a clinical Treaty United side who scored early and late at Finn Park on Friday night.

The Harps suffered an early set back as Karl O’Sullivan’s corner wasn’t dealt with by David Aziaya and Robbie Lynch poked home from close range inside the opening ten minutes.

That’s how it stayed at the break as the Harps didn’t threaten the away side too often, with Josh Cullen and Patrick Ferry having efforts go wide.

Gradi Lomboto was lively for Kevin McHugh’s men and Dara McGuinness, Aaron McLaughlin and Tony McNamee all had half chances, but Treaty got a second goal late on the counter as Mark Byrne curled a great strike from outside the box into the far corner.

It’s two defeats in-a-row for the Harps after six unbeaten, and they host Athlone Town at Finn Park again next Friday.
