Fine for man who urinated outside Letterkenny Garda Station

A BALLYBOFEY man who was released from garda custody was rearrested after urinating outside Letterkenny Garda Station.

Sergeant Jim Collins told Letterkenny District Court last week how on October 3, 2024 Jason Ward (34), Meencarrigagh, was rearrested after urinating outside Letterkenny Garda Station. He also told gardaí to ‘f**k off’.

The court also heard how on November 11, 2024 at Lower Main Street, gardaí were on patrol when they observed Ward acting aggressively with door staff. Gardai approached Ward, who was “shouting and roaring that foreigners should f**k off back to their own country”.

Ward was also issued with an FCN for holding a mobile phone while driving on January 18, 2024 on the R940 Ramelton to Ballyraine Road. The FCN was not paid, Sergeant Collins told the court.

Solicitor Mr Kieran O’Gorman told the court his client has not come to garda attention since.

“He is not a violent person. He puts his hands up.”

Ward was fined a total of €660 and was given six months to pay.
