Final tally figures announced for Donegal 

WITH all ballot boxes now opened at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny, the final tally figures show that Catherine Connolly has received 75 per cent of the votes in the county.

Figures show that Heather Humphreys has received 20 per cent of the votes and Jim Gavin has received four per cent of the votes.

Overall, 12 per cent of the votes cast were spoiled.

Yesterday, 37 per cent of voters turned out to cast their vote in the county, an increase of four per cent on the 2018 presidential election.

The total amount of votes cast this year was 49,717, an increase of almost 10,000 votes on the last presidential election.
