Finn Harps 1 Athlone Town 1
Patrick Ferry’s late header saw Finn Harps take a draw against Athlone Town in Finn Park.
A game of two halves saw Tim Hiemer save his side twice in the first half to prevent Daniel McKenna and Dylan Hand left it scoreless at the break.
The Harps were much better in the second half but Athlone took the lead against the run of play with 20 minutes remaining through Gideon Tetteh.
But 15-year-old Gavin McAteer delivered a superb cross in the 88th minute and Ferry’s glancing header found the corner of the net.
Ferry could have won it in the final minute when he was played in on the left, but Enda Minogue made a brilliant save.
