REDCASTLE man Liam McLaughlin is standing for the Farmers’ Alliance party in the forthcoming local elections.
Mr McLaughlin will run in the Cardonagh Electoral Area.
Farmers’ Alliance is a burgeoning grassroots movement of farmers and citizens from rural and urban areas alike, dedicated to restoring common sense to Irish politics.
Originating as a Facebook Group created by Mr McLaughlin, their movement swiftly amassed over 20,000 members.
Encouraged by widespread support, they officially registered as a political party in April 2023.
Their mission is to provide a unified voice for farmers, fishermen, and rural communities, long overlooked and marginalised by the political establishment.
As the adage goes, ‘no farmers, no food’, and they recognise the vital importance of safeguarding food security and nurturing a thriving farming and fishing sector in Ireland.
Moreover, Farmers’ Alliance is deeply troubled by pressing issues affecting all citizens in Ireland, including the housing crisis and unregulated immigration.
As a political party, they are committed to prioritising the interests of the Irish people and challenging EU regulations that do not serve the nation’s best interests.
