Family of husband and wife who died in viaduct disaster mark centenary

THREE generations of the Boyle family gathered at the site of the Owencarrow Viaduct disaster, where on January 30, 1925, high winds derailed two rail coaches.

The tragedy claimed four lives including Arranmore husband and wife, Philip and Sarah Boyle.

Their grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren travelled from Chicago, Manchester, Mayo and Arranmore to mark the centenary of the tragedy together.
