Finn Harps will come up against some familiar faces in Lissywollen on Friday night.
Kevin McHugh’s Harps will be hoping to get off to a good start.
They’ve had some great additions to the squad but have had a couple departures as well, some of which will be hoping to line out for the Midlands side on Friday.
Gradi Lomboto had an excellent 2025 season for Finn Harps before signing for Athlone ahead of the 2026 season.
Lomboto appeared in every game last season, and scored five goals including vital winners against Dundalk and Treaty United. He got two assists during his time in Donegal and was a key player in their mid-season play-off push.
Another man hoping to cement a place on the Athlone team is Patrick Ferry.
The Gweedore native spent two and a half seasons at Finn harps where he got 14 goals and assists in all competitions before departing to Treaty United for a short-term spell in July 2025 and he is now with Athlone. He’ll be looking to get his season up-and-running against his old side.
