TWIN sisters Aoibhinn and Alice McGowan have made a heartfelt gesture by donating their hair to support children battling serious illness, as part of the Locks of Love for LauraLynn campaign.
The 10 year old twins from Falcarragh recently had their hair cut at Hairdos in Churchill by stylists Breda and Chloe, in support of LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.
As part of the initiative, all funds raised will go directly to the hospice to support its vital services for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
To date, the girls have raised close to €1,500.

For Aoibhinn, the cause is deeply personal. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at just 18 months old. During her treatment, she was offered a wig.
Now having overcome her illness, she and her sister Alice are paying it forward by donating over 12 inches of their hair to the Little Princess Trust, an organisation that creates free wigs for those undergoing treatment.
Their mum Maeve McGowan is encouraging the local community to support their fundraiser and help raise awareness for the important work carried out by LauraLynn.
