There was extra-time disappointment for Cill Chartha as they lost to An Ghaeltacht in the senior final of the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta in Kerry today.
Kilcar lined out without their county players, while Stephen McBrearty was also absent through injury.
However, they were excellent in the first 20 minutes, and Mark McHugh scored three times as they established a 0-5 to 0-0 lead.
An Ghaeltacht did raise their game after that, but Cill Chartha were still three in front at half-time.
The Donegal champions lost the influential Ciaran McGinley to injury at the start of the second half, and they saw their lead cut to two before Eamon McGinley was forced to make a brilliant save.
Matthew McClean landed a good point for Kilcar, but An Ghaeltacht kept going and they got the scores late on to send the match to extra-time.
Both teams scored two points in the first half of the additional time, before Eanna Ó Conchúir nudged An Ghaeltacht in front.
