WITH just days to go until Letterkenny’s St. Patrick’s Day parade on Monday, March 17, excitement is mounting across the town.
One of the largest parades in the county, this year promises to be another spectacular celebration, bringing a true festival atmosphere to Letterkenny.
Organised by Letterkenny Chamber, the parade is set to showcase a colourful and lively mix of sporting groups, dance schools, gymnastic clubs, and community organisations—all coming together to mark this special national holiday in style.
Speaking ahead of the event, Chamber President Jimmy Stafford said the chamber team has been working hard behind the scenes to make this year’s parade just as big and successful as ever.
“We’re once again blown away by the support from our local businesses and sponsors,” he said.
“Without their generosity, this event simply wouldn’t be possible.”
This year’s parade is extra special as St. Patrick’s Day falls on a weekend, giving families even more reason to come out and enjoy the festivities. The event also signals the arrival of spring—a time to celebrate community spirit, culture, fun and better weather ahead.
The Letterkenny parade is a family-friendly, inclusive, and colourful celebration, and there’s still time to register your group or float. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this fantastic tradition.
Live Music and Entertainment
Adding to the excitement, there’ll be live music throughout the day to entertain spectators as they await the parade:
l Joe Gibson will kick things off on the main stage at 1.30pm
l Callum Keaveney will perform at McGettigan’s Hotel
l New Generation are playing at Blake’s Bar
l Keep Er Lit will perform at Lower Main Street
Fun for All the Family
Families can also enjoy free photos at the Market Square photo booth, capturing memories of the day.
Chair of the Parade Committee, Annette Houston, encourages everyone to get involved:
“We’re inviting everyone to come along, wear their shamrocks, put on something green and be part of this fantastic community event. Let’s make this a St. Patrick’s Day to remember.”
The parade kicks off at 3pm, so gather your friends and family and join the fun in Letterkenny this St. Patrick’s Day.
