The A/W catwalks were awash with glamorous onyx blacks, gothic platform heels and ethereal ebony lace.
With beauty and fashion taking a darker turn we have a look at how this high fashion catwalk trend transforms to the real world.
With some inspiration from the dark side here is how to score maximum beauty points and be a gothic goddess this party season.
Take inspiration from these catwalk looks and then be bold and be blacked out.
Black out eyes
This goth glam look is really all about the eyes, so go for heavy liner above and below the lash line.
Keep things pretty by making the lines bold but neat and soften the black out for a smouldering look, it is nicer than a harsh line.
Do not forget that this look is about glamour as well as gothic inspiration, so finish with some pretty false lashes, individual lashes give a romantic finish.
Tidy up under the end with a tissue from all the black shadow that drops. If you are brave enough opt for full on black gel liner all over the lid with a strong flick on the edge of the eye to lift and add drama.
Statement Lips
Just like we change our summer to winter clothes our lips change too. Lips go all out dark and dramatic for the glam goth look this A/W.
This year it is all about the deepest burgundy lips you can imagine, basically the colour of red wine stained lips.
Burgundy can be very harsh on even the prettiest lips, so a softer approach is a lipstick with a creamy finish for a glow, which lets you hold onto the drama but keeps it natural looking.
Paint it black
Summers pastels are well and truly gone this A/W when it comes to nails.
Slick of deep paints are everywhere, from blood reds, to deep sea blue and the classic black, dark is where it is at for nails.
Add some studs for impact and absolute drama. Undercoat your nails with a clear base coat to avoid nail staining.
Black never really goes away but this season it is here in all of its glory, so when it comes to gothic glamour; go big, go bold, or forget and go boring.

This course was designed for LYIT by New York fashion designer Sheila Clancy O’ Donnell.
It is hands on and aimed at anyone who has an interest in fashion, it will introduce you to the world of fashion, creating mood boards and high end fashion.
