Events postponed in light of Creeslough tragedy

A number of events have been postponed this week as a mark of respect to the victims of the Creeslough tragedy.

Hemp Information Session

Donegal County Council’s Hemp Information Session scheduled for Wednesday, October 12 is postponed until further notice.

“Our deepest sympathies are extended to every person affected by the tragedy,” a spokesperson said.

Letterkenny District Court

Monday 10th October: As a mark of respect to those who lost their lives in Creeslough and their families and friends, Judge Cunningham has cancelled the sitting of Letterkenny District Court today.

Donegal Municipal District 

The Donegal Municipal District Meeting which was scheduled to be held tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11 at 11:30am in the Peter Kennedy Chamber, Donegal Public Service Centre has been postponed.

The Irish Refugee Council and Donegal Intercultural Platform refugee hosting event 

Following the tragic loss of so many lives to the explosion in Creeslough, Co. Donegal on Friday, The Irish Refugee Council and Donegal Intercultural Platform have decided to postpone the refugee hosting event that was due to take place on Wednesday, October 12 until further notice.

“Our condolences go to the families, friends, and the greater Co Donegal community for the loss of their loved ones,” a spokesperson said.

Donegal Travellers Project

In light of the tragedy in Creeslough, Donegal Travellers Project is cancelling and postponing all events this week including today’s Diversity Awareness Training for social inclusion week.
“The team at DTP wish to express our deepest sympathies to the community of Creeslough. Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased, those who are injured and the families and friends of all those affected,” a spokesperson said.
An Grianan Theatre
The Concert for World Mental Health Day on Monday 10th October in An Grianán theatre has been cancelled out of respect to the lives lost in the Creeslough and all the families and communities effected.
