World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) takes place tomororw, Wednesday, September 10. The theme this year is ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’.
This theme calls on people, communities, organisations and government to foster open, honest conversations about suicide. By initiating these vital conversations, we can break down barriers, raise awareness, and create better cultures of understanding and support.
Please visit www.hse.ie for information in relation to upcoming events to mark WSPD in Donegal and also key messages and details of training that is available.
Letterkenny CDP are also holding an event at the Courtyard Shopping Centre tomorrow, Wednesday, September 10, between 1pm and 3pm to mark the day where a panel discussion will take place and a memorial ceremony will take place for loved ones lost to suicide.
I would also like to say that anyone who is in distress and in need of assistance is very welcome to come to any of our Garda Stations where we will happily provide a listening ear and will point them in direction of services who can help.
