Evening Classes Available with Donegal ETB this Autumn

Those thinking of upskilling or reskilling this Autumn, should check out the wide range of evening classes available with Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) Service.

Starting in early September, these courses can be undertaken in the ETB’s Letterkenny Training Centre, online or enjoy the best of both worlds by taking a blended approach, depending on the course.

For those currently working in or hoping to work in business, there are a variety of courses on offer including business administration, manual and computerised bookkeeping or payroll, ICDL management spreadsheets covering the advanced skills needed to use the versatile features of spreadsheets or ICDL workforce profile modules will increase your digital skills.

The ILM Leadership and Management qualification is ideal for individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training and want to develop their abilities. It will support practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts and/or other pressures.

Project managers who want to consolidate their skills or indeed those who want to change career and move into this area, will gain the theoretical knowledge of how to plan, manage and deliver projects from start to finish through the internationally recognised project management qualification PRINCE2, available online.

For those interested in the beauty industry, there are evening classes available in barbering techniques, creative up-styling, makeup and manicure/pedicure, while welding professionals who need to improve their manual arc and MIG welding skills can do so through two courses.

The increasing requirement for highly skilled healthcare professionals is supported by an in-centre course in first aid or a blended class in healthcare covering two modules in intellectual disability studies and activities of living patient care.

The hugely popular Training and Development course will assist in acquiring skills to identify training and development needs and to deliver and evaluate a training intervention.

All courses start at 6.00pm and run until 10.00pm, while First Aid and ICDL Management Spreadsheets run until 9.00pm.

If you are currently in full or part-time employment or are self-employed, you may be eligible for a fee waiver or reduced course fees under the Skills to Advance initiative.  Book a place by calling the Letterkenny Training Centre on 074 91 20500 or apply online through the ETB’s website course finder (www.donegaletb.ie/fetcoursefinder) using ‘evening’ as your keyword.

Those currently in receipt of a social welfare payment may be eligible to avail of these courses for free: applications should be made via local Intreo (DSP) Offices (welding courses are not open to this category).
