Killybegs clubman Niall Erskine will be leaving his name in the mix for the role of Central Council Officer at County Convention on December 13.
Erskine was in the running for the GAA Presidency earlier this year but lost out against Jarlath Burns.
He has been nominated for the Central Council Officer at Convention along with Sean Dunnion (Four Masters) and Martin McHugh (Kilcar)
“I only decided yesterday (Monday) that I would present myself for election,” said Erskine.
“I am a bit confused as people have been nominated for more than one position but it is only two weeks until Convention now so I had to make a decision on whether I was going for it or not.
“I was the Donegal Central Council Officer between 2011 and 2015, and resigned from that role with about six months to go as I was elected as a Trustee of the GAA.
“I have given it a bit of thought and have decided to leave my name in, and it will be up for the clubs to decide at convention, and I will respect the outcome.”
