LETTERKENNY Rovers midfielder Gareth Doherty admits that he has looked on enviously as Bonagee United have enjoyed a terrific 12 months, but he’s hoping a win over their neighbours in the FAI Intermediate Cup this Saturday will help the Leckview Park side to turn the corner.
When Doherty was breaking through with Rovers as a teenager, his team were generally competing well in the Ulster Senior League while Bonagee struggled.
However, the roles were reversed last season. Bonagee won three trophies while they also reached the quarter-finals of the FAI Intermediate Cup, and recently got the opportunity to face Shelbourne in the FAI Senior Cup.
