Mark Curran was a half-time sub in Donegal’s first game of the season and did enough to get a start in the next match. He held on to his starting berth from that juncture on. Curran was unlucky with a hamstring injury in 2022 but he got a good run at things this term and showed that he is a determined defender. There were a couple of testing days, particularly against Tyrone’s Darragh Canavan, but in general the Dungloe man had a fine campaign, and corner-forwards have to work hard to get scores off him.
