AN EMERGENCY Tractor Run has been organised in a bid to assist three Newtowncunningham families whose homes were struck by lightning during Storm Isha.
From electrical damage to serious structural damage, these families are now left picking up the pieces.
Taking to social media this week to announce the run, organisers spoke of how one family had to “flee for their lives” when a severe lightning strike ignited a fire in their family home.
Now urging the public to show their support on February 18, organisers are aiming to bring some “stability” and “normality” back to those affected.
With lorries and classic cars also welcome, organisers say location, registration and start time details are yet to be confirmed.
“Let’s all do what we can to make it count for everyone affected,” a spokesperson said.
