Donegal County Council has been advised that the Cabinet has approved the Emergency Humanitarian Flood Scheme to aid eligible businesses impacted by the recent flooding in Donegal on the weekend of the July 22 and 23 2023.
Homes and businesses across East Donegal are still recovering from the flash flooding that ravaged local towns at the weekend.
Ten commercial premises and eight domestic properties were affected while some roads were ripped up during the worst of the flooding.
This scheme provides an emergency humanitarian support contribution towards the costs of returning business premises to their pre-flooding condition including the replacement of flooring, fixtures, fittings, and damaged stock.
The scheme, which will be administered by the Irish Red Cross, will be live on their website at https://www.redcross.ie/flood-support-scheme/ from later today.
