FIRE crews are attending the scene of a major gorse fire close to the N56 road outside Creeslough.
An appeal has gone out to local farmers with slurry tanks to ferry water to the scene.
Videos of the fire, which is on the Termon side of the ‘bog road’ in Creeslough have been posted on social media.
On Thursday the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine issued a Fire Danger Notice for all areas where hazardous fuels such as dead grasses and shrub fuels such as heather and gorse exist.
This notice is in effect until midday on Monday, May 12.
Donegal County Council has appealed to landowners and members of the public to exercise caution and to take all necessary measures to prevent the occurrence of wildfires.
