Electric Escapes Ireland gears up for Ireland’s largest tourism trade fair Meitheal

Cycling family

NEXT week, April 8, newly established Electric Escapes Ireland (EEI), Ireland’s largest network provider of high quality electric bike tours and conventional bike tours will be showcasing its diverse portfolio to around 300 international tour operators attending Meitheal at the RDS Dublin. Donegal-based Grassroutes is a member of the network.

With the latest Overseas Travel figures from the CSO indicating an encouraging 11% growth for the last three months compared to 2013, EEI will be hoping its high-end cycling packages will attract overseas business from key international buyers, not only in Ireland’s top four markets, the UK, US, France and Germany, but also other territories including Holland and Scandinavia.

EEI has over 30 years experience in the tourism industry collectively, with seven strategically-located hubs in its network. It is the leading provider of premium electric bike tours in scenic counties Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Fermanagh, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Meath, Roscommon and Sligo.

With an arsenal of nearly 200 high quality Kalkhoff electric bikes and hybrid bikes, EEI has an enviable catalogue of breathtaking tours which highlight world-renowned visitor attractions such as Ireland’s flagship Wild Atlantic Way, Gleanveagh National Park, Connemara, The Greenway, Slane, The Burren and North West Lakelands to name but a few.

Fred Gallagher of Grassroutes said: “We are confident going to Meitheal that we will forge strong commercial partnerships – we have a competitive product which will appeal to high-end international tour operators. We want to promote Ireland as the number one cycling destination in Europe and EEI as the company with the knowledge and expertise which can deliver premium electric bike tours which are value-for-money, yet unique and memorable”.
