THERE has been a quiet start to the morning here in the Aura Leisure Centre as count staff are busy organising votes, including postal votes.
Of course, two counts are taking place out here today.
In the Milford Local Electoral Area, there are nine candidates contesting the three seats up for grabs.
They are Éamonn Jackson 100% Redress Party, John O’Donnell Independent, Maria Doherty Sinn Féin, Declan Meehan Independent, Aaron Sweeney Fine Gael, Liam Blaney Fianna Fáil, Vincent J Bradley Independent, Pauric Mc Garvey Independent and Kathleen Deeney Aontú.
In the Letterkenny Local Electoral Area, there are 18 candidates contesting the seven seats up for grabs.
They are Tómas Seán Devine 100% Redress Party, Kevin Bradley Independent, Gerry McMonagle Sinn Féin, Sandra Haughey Sinn Féin, Ulick Hughes Sinn Féin, Selina O’Donnell Independent, Jimmy Kavanagh Fine Gael, Declan Jordan Independent, Michael McLaughlin The Labour Party, Nuala Carr Green Party, Donal Coyle Fianna Fáil, Thobia Ahmed Independent, Donal Mandy Kelly Fianna Fáil, Ciaran Brogan Fianna Fáil, Vincent J Bradley Independent, Anne McCloskey The Irish People, Mary T Sweeney Aontú and Michael McBride Independent.
