Eddie Harkin
BY CHRIS MCNULTY
EDDIE Harkin has been returned as the St Michael’s manager for 2015.
Harkin takes over from Tony Wilkinson at The Bridge, having had a previous spell as manager of the Creeslough-Dunfanaghy outfit in 2011 and 2012.
In 2011, Harkin was at the helm when St Michael’s reached the Donegal senior football championship final for the first time, although they were pipped to Dr Maguire by Glenswilly in the final.
Charlie McLaughlin succeeded Harkin, who stepped down following the 2012 campaign, while Wilkinson had the reigns last year when St Michael’s came through the ‘group of death’, a section that included Glenswilly and Kilcar, and reached the semi-finals, where they bowed out at the hands of eventual champions St Eunan’s.
Gaoth Dobhair, Glenswilly, Sean MacCumhaills and Termon are among the clubs who have yet to confirm their management teams for the coming season.
Michael McMenamin will be the manager of his native Naomh Padraig, Muff this year.
McMenamin served for five years as Donegal’s Development Officer and only vacated that post at last month’s annual convention. McMenamin was also a member of Jim McGuinness’s backroom staff, serving as the logistics manager.
Now back on club duty, McMenamin takes over from Charlie Molloy at Ture.
Meanwhile, Paul McGonigle will take charge of Buncrana’s minor footballers having been a selector with Jim McGuinness during 2014.
