THE spectacular landscape of Magheraroarty near Gortahork will once again form the backdrop for the dramatic open-air exhibition of An Cosan Glas Loinnir during the final weekend this year’s 25th annual Earagail Arts Festival.

The area’s stunning beach, sand dunes and mountain views will be the setting of the annual trail where illuminated large-scale sculptures will light up the night sky.

Twelve artists will present newly created large-scale sculptures,along with the children ‘s work, which WAS produced during the art workshops held by An Cosan Glas in Magheroarty from July 1 to 5.

The work will light up and come alive as daylight fades and the night descends and local musicians provide entertainment.

Visitors are invited to interact and discover the delightful night-time extravaganza and celebrate the work amongst the magical and breath-taking setting of Magheroarty.

This year An Cosan Glas invited guest artist is Tim Johnson, who now resides in the Isle of Man, and was involved in the Sculpture Project at the beginning of its inception in the Ballyconnell Estate Gardens in Falcarragh in 1995.

Artists Deirdre Brennan said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Tim, who was with us in the very beginning, will be back to join us on the project for this year’s Loinnir trail.”

Along with their Loinnir show An Cosan Glas was also invited to show its work during the Clannad and Altan Abhaile – Homecoming concert in Carrickfinn last Saturday.
