THE word is out on what will be one of next summer’s most exciting events to take place near one of the most beautiful spots in West Donegal.

For only the second time, the two bands will share a stage in of the main events of next year’s Earagail Arts Festival at the Festival Marquee in Carrickfinn.

This is truly a major event for the festival, which celebrates its 25th birthday in 2013, the year that ex Pats from all over the world are expected to return to these shores as part of The Gathering (donegalgathering.com), as well as attracting fans of both bands.

One of the stars of the event, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (Altan) said it will be a rare opportunity to see both bands play together in their native county.

“It’s something we’ve all always wanted to happen and, even though we put on a show together during this year’s Fleadh Ceoil in Cavan, this will be a very rare opportunity to see both our groups play a day together at home in Donegal.”

Tickets (€35.50) are available from the festival box office at An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny on Tel. +353 (0) 74 9120777 or via the website www.eaf.ie
