€700,000 for Donegal Gaeltacht projects

CONFIRMATION that two recreational projects in the Donegal Gaeltacht are to receive €700,000 in funding has been broadly welcomed.

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, has confirmed €500,000 for the Muckish Railway Walk. Meanwhile €200,000 has been allocated to the Millside Walk in Fintown.

Údarás na Gaeltachta says the projects will greatly contribute to the development of tourism and the well-being of local communities.

Rónán Mac Con Iomaire, Stiúrthóir Forbartha Réigiúnaí, Pobail agus Pleanála Teanga, said, “The investment announced is a good example of how to build on the great work done by Údarás na Gaeltachta.”

“This work is carried out in collaboration with Gaeltacht community development organisations, promoting the use of natural amenities for the local community, while providing Gaeltacht tourism opportunities,” he said.
