MINISTER Joe McHugh today (Tuesday) congratulated Lorraine Thompson and all those involved with the Letterkenny Youth Service on their successful application to the Department of Youth and Children, where it was announced today they will receive €50,000 for the “Re-location of Youth Information Service to a more suitable site”.

“I arranged a meeting with Lorraine Thompson, Regional Director, and Charlene Logue to meet with Minister James Reilly earlier this year to highlight the incredible amount of work the group carry out every day and how much this funding would benefit both the work they do but also for the fortunate community they work on behalf of and the young who undoubtedly benefit from the service.

“The premise is the old cinema building on the Port Road, Letterkenny. During the meeting with the Minister, Lorraine and Charlene presented a comprehensive and detailed plan to Minister Reilly, demonstrating the level of research and work they had done before submitting their application. The group applied for the ‘Funding for Vulnerable Projects’ and the application went in through CDYSB (City of Dublin Youth Service Board) and Donegal ETB.”
