THE new Ballyshannon Community Hospital will not be fully operational until the end of the year but the local community will today celebrate its official opening.
The hospital has cost €36.7 million to develop and has already been functioning, as it has been opening up on a phased basis. There are 52 long-stay and 20 short-stay beds to serve Ballyshannon and the wider area.
147 staff will provide a range of services, including rehabilitation and palliative care. Speech & Language Therapy will also be delivered.
