€35m allocated to Donegal’s roads and infrastructure

TRANSPORT Minister Eamon Ryan has announced a funding package of €35 million for Donegal’s roads and infrastructure in 2022.

The money is broken down into several sections including safety improvement works, bridge rehabilitation, specific grants and climate adaptation.

The largest single amount, €500,000 is to be spent realigning Fintra bridge and road. That is followed by €350,000 for drainage and kerb replacement on the R267 near Donegal Town.

In Letterkenny €250,000 will go towards the southern relief road, a scheme aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the town centre and along Port Road.

Further significant investments include €226,000 on the Laghey to Pettigo Road and that €165,000 for the cathedral one way system in Letterkenny.
