O’Donovan Rossa 3-9 Dungloe 2-20
Dungloe minor ladies were thoroughly deserving victors as they led for over 50 minutes against O’Donovan Rossa in the Ulster minor semi-final in Magherafelt on Sunday.
Spurred on by the superb shooting from Mia O’Donnell, who ended the game with 1-12, they went into an early 0-6 to 0-3 lead after a quarter of an hour.
A penalty save by Aine Walsh kept them ahead and while Aoife Gormley did hit the net for the home side, O’Donnell responded perfectly as they led by six at the break.
Six became twelve as they tagged on the next half a dozen scores before Rossa hit the net through Ava Hurl.
The deficit was reduced to six again but Millie Hanlon added a second goal for Dungloe and while Mary Shaw found the net in added time, there would be no stopping the West Donegal side from reaching the final.
