On Friday night, Raphoe’s Bantamweight kingpin Danny Duffy took on Oisin Warscroft from St Colm’s BC Cork in the National Senior final at the National Stadium.
Duffy started strongly landing powerful shots to head and body. The pattern continued and Duffy was crowned National Senior champion.
Cathal McLaughlin stepped between the ropes on Saturday morning in the Senior middleweight final where he faced TJ King from Ballyboughal BC, Dublin.
King went into the final as favourite but the Raphoe power puncher had other plans.
McLaughlin stamped his authority from the first bell landing hard body shots and securing the first round.
King came back strong in the second but McLaughlin’s boxing skill proved to much and he took the second and third and was crowned National Senior middleweight champion.
McLaughlin done it the hard way by defeating D.Wahab, Peter Convery, Richard O’Leary and TJ King on his way to glory.
