Driving conditions dangerous after overnight snow

By Diarmaid Doherty

Driving conditions are extremely hazardous in parts of Donegal this morning and motorists are being urged to take care on their journeys.

Donegal County Council’s road gritting teams were out in force overnight, but a number of routes are proving dangerous, particularly those that have not been treated.

Another weather warning for low temperatures in Donegal has been issued this morning by Met Éireann.

The yellow weather warning is valid from 9am this morning until midday on Friday.

Met Éireann is warning that temperatures will be very cold with widespread frost, icy stretches and lying snow persisting today, tonight and tomorrow.

There could be hazardous conditions on roads and paths and some travel disruption.
