Draft rates information announced for defective block home in North West region

THE Mica Action Group has released draft rates information for homes impacted by the defective block crisis in the North West region.

The Group interpretation of the rates includes for a home of up to 180 square metres (1,938 sq. ft) at the rate of €2045 per  sq m (€190 per sq. ft) would apply.

Example: 180 sq m. x €2,045 = €368,100.

The rates, which relate to Donegal and Mayo, have not yet been confirmed by government but a meeting is expected to be held with the Minister for Housing in the coming days.
