Downings retain All-Ireland Junior Gaeltacht title


Na Dúnaibh 2-12 Beal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh 1-4

Na Dúnaibh retained the All-Ireland Junior Gaeltacht title today when they defeated Beal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh at the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta in Kerry.

The Rosguill men led by 2-6 to 1-3 at half-time with Allen Pasoma and Keelan McGroddy scoring the goals.

Beal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh scored the first point after the restart, but Downings hit back through two points from Eric Roberts and a brace from Lorcan Connor.

Liam Ó Coinceannain and Caomhin Ó Loinsigh were both sent off in the last ten minutes as Beal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh lost their discipline.

Downings closed the game out with minimum fuss, and there were eleven points separating the sides at the final whistle.
